Terms of Service

Welcome to LoveJoy. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and LoveJoy (“LoveJoy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your use of the LoveJoy mobile application and related services (the “Service”). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using LoveJoy, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use LoveJoy. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that:

• You are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
• You have never been convicted of a felony or any crime involving violence or sexual misconduct, and you are not required to register as a sex offender with any government authority.
• You have not previously been removed from the Service or otherwise prohibited from using it.
• You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws.

2. Your Account

• You are responsible for the information you provide and for keeping your profile accurate and truthful.
• You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account and for keeping your sign-in method secure.
• You may maintain only one account, and you may not share your account or transfer it to anyone else.
• You may delete your account at any time in the app’s settings.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

LoveJoy offers an optional paid subscription (“Premium”) that unlocks additional features. The following terms apply to subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store:

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
• Payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law or by Apple’s applicable policies. Refund requests for App Store purchases are handled by Apple.
• We may change subscription prices and features. If we increase the price of a subscription you hold, we will seek your consent where required, and the change will take effect on a future renewal.

4. Community Rules

LoveJoy only works if people feel safe and respected. You agree that you will not:

• Harass, threaten, bully, defame, or intimidate other users.
• Post or send content that is hateful, violent, sexually exploitative, or unlawful, or that depicts or involves minors in any inappropriate way.
• Impersonate any person, misrepresent your age or identity, or create a false profile.
• Solicit money from other users, run scams, or engage in any fraudulent or deceptive activity.
• Use the Service for commercial solicitation, advertising, prostitution, or human trafficking.
• Share, collect, or harvest other users’ personal information without their consent.
• Use bots, scrapers, or automated means to access or collect data from the Service.
• Upload viruses or malicious code, or attempt to interfere with, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to the Service.

Violating these rules may result in content removal, suspension, or permanent removal from the Service.

5. Your Content

You own the photos, text, and other content you submit (“Your Content”). By submitting Your Content, you grant LoveJoy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and share it as needed to operate and provide the Service (for example, showing your profile to other users). This license ends when you delete Your Content or your account, except for content already shared with other users or that we must retain for legal reasons.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the right to share it and that it does not violate these Terms or any law. We may remove content that we believe violates these Terms or could harm the community.

6. Safety & No Screening

• Take precautions when communicating with or meeting anyone you don’t know — meet in public places, tell a friend where you’re going, and don’t share sensitive financial or personal information.
• Use the in-app reporting and blocking tools if someone behaves inappropriately.
• If you ever feel you are in danger, contact your local emergency services immediately.
• We provide safety features as a convenience, but we cannot and do not guarantee your safety. You use the Service and meet other users at your own risk.

7. Reporting, Blocking & Termination

You can report or block other users at any time within the app. We review reports and may remove content or accounts that violate these Terms. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, create risk or legal exposure for us, or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that any matches will be made, or that you will achieve any particular result from using LoveJoy.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, LoveJoy and its owners, employees, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service, or your interactions with other users. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless LoveJoy and its owners, employees, and partners from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, Your Content, your interactions with other users, or your violation of these Terms or any law.

11. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Before filing any formal claim, you agree to first contact us so we can try to resolve the matter informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Florida, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
