Slow dating, on purpose

Going slower isn't a hack. It's a discipline — and it's the single biggest predictor of finding someone you can actually stay with.

The case for slowness

Fast dating is loud. It fills your calendar, then your messages, then your head. It feels like motion. It almost never is.

Slow dating, on the other hand, looks like nothing. You go on one date. You sit with it. You rate it honestly. You decide.

What slowness gives you

  • Honesty. You can't lie to yourself when there are no other distractions.
  • Pattern recognition. Two dates a month for a year teaches you more than two a week for two months.
  • Presence. The person in front of you is the only one in front of you.

That's the entire pitch.
